Suspect in stabbing of J.C. Penney loss prevention officers
Two security personnel at Hamilton Place Mall were stabbed Thursday night while trying to stop a man who was allegedly stealing some blue jeans at J.C. Penney.
At 9:15 p.m. Chattanooga Police responded to the stabbing that occurred outside Penney's. Two JC Penney loss prevention officers had been stabbed.
One of the officers was stabbed in the leg and the other in the chest. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment and the extent of their injuries is unknown.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20–30 years old, wearing a red shirt. He fled the scene in a white car.
He was caught on store video.
