Leland Eugene Aslinger, 86, of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
He was born on October 28, 1926, the son of Minnie and Gordon Aslinger. He was a member of the Soddy United Methodist Church. Leland was a graduate of Sale Creek High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Combustion Engineering and the W.R. Grace and Company.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mavis Salmon and Sylvia Hodge and brothers, Raymond, Drewie and J.C. Aslinger.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Roberts Aslinger; sisters, Violet Carpenter and Vivian Haynes; nephew, Glenn M. Crawley and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Dewayne Renfro officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be on Saturday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
