Bess Epstein Koplan died on Thursday, January 24, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Ben and Annie Epstein. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph A. Koplan, her twin sister, Rose Cohen, and her grandson, Marty Koplan.

Survivors include her sons, Gary (Novella) Koplan, David (Brenda) Koplan and Ron (Anne) Koplan, grandchildren, Ben (Kristina) Koplan, Karen Koplan, and Joanna Nash, great-grandchildren, Austin and Zachary Koplan, Avery Rose and Landon Wilhite, and Joseph and Jacob Nash, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Central High School and McKenzie School of Business. She worked at the Credit Bureau of Chattanooga and then assisted her husband in his various businesses. She was a lifetime member of Hadassah and a lifelong member of B’nai Zion Congregation.

She will be laid to rest with graveside services at B’nai Zion Cemetery on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m.

Jean Wyrick Napolitan, 92, of Chattanooga, formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee, died on Thursday, July 2, 2015 in a local hospital. Born in Morristown, Tn., to the late Dr. and Mrs. M.L. Fuel Spill Shuts Down Westbound Traffic At I-24/Hwy 27 Split

Chattanooga Police on Saturday morning were at the scene of a traffic crash involving an 18-wheeler at the I-24/Hwy. 27 split in the westbound lanes.
