Elizabeth Betty Ellis, 85, of Ringgold, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at a local hospital.
She was born on Jan. 14, 1928, was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Ringgold areas and was of the Baptist faith. Her passions in life were fishing and working in her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Ellis; and son, Elbert LeBron “Butch” Gatlin.
Survivors include her children, Patsy Walker of Harrison, David Friar, of Chattanooga, and Bill Friar, of Ringgold; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Head Springs Cemetery in Valley Head, Ala., with David Walker II officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 3-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
