Townson, Doris Elizabeth Black

Doris Elizabeth Black Townson, of Chattanooga, died Friday evening, January 25, 2013.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Nellie Francis Holt Black and Charles Franklin Black of Chattanooga, and brother, Howard Holt Black.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Burns; her grandchildren, Lyndsay Frankenberg, Seth Wagner and Shelly Foust; her great-granddaughters, Lily and Charlotte Frankenberg; and her brother, Colonel Charles Black, Jr.

The family is grateful for her life and will honor her at a memorial service at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29.  

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine’s Shelter for Women and Children, c/o St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga.

Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
