French, Albert "Al"

Albert “Al” French, 88, of Signal Mountain, died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side.

Al was a loving husband, uncle, and brother-in-law. He also loved his dogs. A great athlete, he loved playing tennis and was an avid runner, having run in many road races. He could beat anyone at the daily crossword puzzle and felt that exercising your mind was as important as exercising your body.

A veteran of the Army, Al was a member of the 1st Cavalry Division, 12th regiment. He was a former member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Elks.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. French is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ruth French.

A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1716 Anderson Pike, Signal Mountain. His nephew, Father Peter Iorio will officiate his funeral Mass.

The family will gather with friends on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until the hour of Mass at the
church.
