Katherine Christian McMahan, 60, died on Monday, January 27, 2012 in a local hospital.
A native of Tupelo, Ms., she was a long-time resident of Chattanooga.
Katherine was born Aug. 6, 1952, to Rev. J.C. and Harriet Scarbrough Christian. She was retired after serving as an educator and divorce and family mediator.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa McMahan of Chattanooga; a son, Johnny McMahan of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Connie C. (Robert) Marion of Tupelo, and Martha (David) Nagle of Signal Mountain; brother, Jeff Christian of Covington, La.; nieces, Jenna Lawhorn, Megan Christian and Emily Nagle; nephews, Chip Lawhorn, Preston Christian, Brad Nagle and Lee Nagle; lifelong friends, Machelle (Robert) and Grace Pitcock.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the North Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at First Centenary United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Gooden Officiating.
