Mary Joy Smith Powell, 85, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Monday, January 28, 2013.
A native of South Pittsburg, Tn., she had lived in the Ringgold area for the past 25 years.
Mary was a former employee of Cutter Laboratory where she worked for 16 years, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class at Parkway Baptist Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Max Powell and parents, James Smith and Maggie Johnson Smith Martin.
She is survived by her caregiver, Gladys Johnson of Rossville.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 1:30-5 p.m., and Thursday, until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
