Lois Virginia Rigsby Nelson, 76, of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. 

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Soddy Daisy. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Virginia Rigsby; husband, Charles A. Nelson, Sr.; brother, Bud Rigsby and sisters, Louise Clayton and Bessie Payne.

Survivors include her sons, Charles A. (Sheila) Nelson, Jr., Eddie (Melissa) Nelson and Ernie (Tammy) Nelson; daughters, Cathy Thompson and Patty Burchard; grandchildren, Andy (Jamie) Nelson, Christy Nelson, Amber (Patrick) Mullins, Ben (Laura) Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Rachel Burchard, Vivian Burchard, Michael Burchard, Christi (Josh) Sparks; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Caleb, Kirsten, Madeline, Grace, Melody, Meadow, Molly, Shyan, Zachary, Landon, Luke and Jocelyn along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Friday, Jan. 4, at the First Baptist Church of Soddy Daisy at 2 p.m. with Dr. Seton Tomyn officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 3, from 12-2 and 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
