Veggie Tales Creator Speaks At Southern Adventist University

“Veggie Tales” creator Phil Vischer will speak at Southern Adventist University on Thursday, Jan. 10.

Mr. Vischer is a voice actor, writer, animator and songwriter best known for creating the computer-animated video series Veggie Tales which has sold 60 million videos since ethe 1993 debut. He recently launched What’s in the Bible, another faith-based project aimed at reaching children.

Mr. Vischer will make a rare guest speaking appearance, visiting Southern Adventist University to share his personal testimony of the highs and lows from 20 years in the Christian entertainment industry. 

Mr. Vischer will speak in the Iles P.E. Center  at 11 a.m. and Thatcher Chapel at 7:30 p.m.  The events are free and open to the public.

Former Baylor School Headmaster Douglas Hale to Retire From Pennsylvania School

Douglas Hale, head of school at Mercersburg Academy in  Mercersburg, Pa., announced Tuesday that he will retire at the end of the  2015-2016 school year. Officials said Tuesday they expect a massive mural planned on a tall MLK Boulevard building by a renowned muralist will be a big draw for the area.
