Deborah Loveless, a 33-year veteran of the Comptroller’s office, was promoted to director of the Division of State Audit. The division is responsible for auditing the finances and performance of the various departments and agencies within Tennessee state government.
Ms. Loveless has held a variety of different positions during her career with the Comptroller’s office. Most recently, she was assistant director for the division’s performance audit group.
“I am very pleased that we have someone of Deborah’s talents and experience to lead our state audit division,” Comptroller Justin P. Wilson said. “This has been – and I believe will continue to be – a smooth transition process.”
Ms. Loveless replaces Arthur Hayes, who retired his month after 32 years with the Comptroller’s office. Mr. Hayes spent more than 23 years as director of the Division of State Audit.
