Loyd Ridley, 80, of Dalton, GA, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Byers Ridley; father, Rev. Burton Ridley; mother, Willie Walkup; sisters, Thelma Morgan and Dorothy Hudgens; brother, W.R. "Bill" Ridley; and step-son, Billy Henry.

He was a member of Trinity House of Worship, where he taught Sunday School and was a Deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ridley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Stanley of Dalton, Becky and Jim Lovain of Tunnel Hill and Deborah and Charlie Garrett of McDonald; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Ridley of Dalton, Jeff and Michelle Ridley of Chatsworth, Johnny and Kaye Henry and Mike and Kathryn Henry of Ooltewah; sisters, Kathleen Byers, Betty Byers, Margie Medders and Francis Rogers, all of Dalton; brother, Rev. Samuel Eugene Ridley of Dalton; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service to honor the life of Loyd Ridley will be held Thursday, January 31, at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home. Burial will be at Treadwell - Ridley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 30 from 5-9 p.m.

Williamson, Betty Faye (Copperhill)

Betty Faye Williamson, 54, of Copperhill, died on May 16, 2013.  She was born in Salisbury, N..,C and raised in Chattanooga. She worked at Animal Clinic East for 12 years and was a big animal lover. Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night.
