Signal Mountain High School star quarterback Reese Phillips leaves for the University of Kentucky this Saturday.

He has completed all his requirements to graduate from high school and will enroll in spring classes next week at UK.

He was honored by friends, family and coaches at a send-off dinner Thursday.

Phillips said he is anxious to get to work for the Wildcats.

He agreed to join the Wildcats after a campus visit and a scholarship offer last June.
