W. David Higgins, 87, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012. 

He was a retired minister with the Assembly of God and was preaching in his first church when he was 19 years old. For 35 years he was the supervisor of the Meat Department at Camp Pendleton, CA Military Base. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Irene “Sue” Higgins; parents, Walter James Higgins and Ella Elizabeth Rough Higgins; and daughter, Judy Diane McDonald. 

He is survived by his children, Carolyn Williamson of Cleveland and Carroll David Higgins of Reno, NV; son-in-law, Terry McDonald of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Lisa Navarro, Mark Watts, Laurie Watts, Gary Martgan, Travis McDonald and Jason McDonald; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Webber, Roberta Lingerfelt and Sharon Golaway, all of Siloam Springs, AR; and two brothers, Glen Higgins and Sam Higgins, both of Southern California. 

A private family memorial service will be held. 

Gissom Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Rogers, 20, Shot Twice While Standing On His Porch

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
