Senator Lamar Alexander was on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Friday morning to discuss “the fiscal cliff nobody wants to talk about: the looming bankruptcy of Medicare”; click here to watch the segment. (And here is more on Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander’s “Dollar for Dollar Act” to address the Medicare fiscal cliff.)
Also on Friday, on the House floor during a Joint Session of Congress, Senator Alexander, as ranking member of the Senate Rules Committee, joined Rules Chairman Chuck Schumer and their two House counterparts to perform the constitutionally mandated tallying of the Electoral College votes, “officially” re-electing President Obama to his second term. Senator Alexander and the other three members of Congress alternated reading the Electoral College tallies from each state; Senator Alexander read the results from Tennessee, which you can see here.
