Hamilton County GOP Has Biennial Convention Jan. 26

The Hamilton County Republican Party will host a biennial convention for the purpose of electing a new slate of officers.  The nominating committee, made up of past party chairmen in accordance with their bylaws, has come up with a recommended slate.

The conventions will be held in a single day (also in accordance with the newly revised bylaws) on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Hixson Middle School on Old Hixson Pike just behind Hixson High School.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the Delegate Selection Caucus begins at 10 a.m.

There are some new precincts as a result of re-districting. A change in the newly revised bylaws keeps an elected delegate in place for a term of two years.

Once delegates are selected, the Contest and Credentials Committee will verify all delegates as bonafide Republicans and we will return at 3 p.m. for the County Reorganization Convention to then vote and elect  the new slate of officers.

DAR Judge David Campbell Chapter Has Member Grave Marking Ceremony

The Judge David Campbell held a Member Grave Marking Ceremony at Forest Hills Cemetery.  A granite marker was installed on the family plot of the A. M. Former CSAS Teacher Who Was Once Reported Missing Facing DUI Charge

A former teacher at Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences, who recently was reported missing and then was spotted, has now been arrested. John Albert Eaton, 44, was arrested Sunday in Red Bank on a DUI charge. He gave his address as Soddy Daisy.
