The Hamilton County Republican Party will host a biennial convention for the purpose of electing a new slate of officers. The nominating committee, made up of past party chairmen in accordance with their bylaws, has come up with a recommended slate.
The conventions will be held in a single day (also in accordance with the newly revised bylaws) on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Hixson Middle School on Old Hixson Pike just behind Hixson High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the Delegate Selection Caucus begins at 10 a.m.
There are some new precincts as a result of re-districting. A change in the newly revised bylaws keeps an elected delegate in place for a term of two years.
Once delegates are selected, the Contest and Credentials Committee will verify all delegates as bonafide Republicans and we will return at 3 p.m. for the County Reorganization Convention to then vote and elect the new slate of officers.
