James Edward “Eddie” Everett, Jr., 60, a resident of Soddy Daisy, died on January 5, 2013, at a local hospital. 

He was a member of the North Hamilton Church of Christ. He was also a member and past master of Red Bank Masonic Lodge 717 F&AM, member of the Scottish Rite Society and member and past captain of the Alhambra Shrine Clown Unit. He retired from TVA Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, and he was a former Red Bank and Hamilton County police officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlene Smith and James Edward Everett, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Dorothy Everett; son, James Edward “Jamie” Everett III; two daughters, Misty Everett and Amanda (Andy) Stewart; grandson, Tayton Everett; sister, Candace House, and brother, Marty Everett.

Masonic services by Red Bank Masonic Lodge 717 F&AM will be on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister David B. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the Alhambra Shrine Clown Unit. 

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, and 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge.
