James C. “J.C.” Roden, 74, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

He was employed as a driver with T.T. Wilson, Co. and was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Roden.

Survivors include his children, Danny Roden, Kathy Keith, Mary Jones, Francine Roden and Gail Roden; brothers, Earl and Charles Roden; sister, Betty Gray; several grand and great-grandchildren.

Private burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.

Evelyn L. “Wee Wee” Thornhill, 89, died on Monday, June 27, 2016.   She was born September 29, 1927 to the late Ezra and Nellie Mathis in Chattanooga. She was the second of 12 children. Mark Macon, 53, of Guild, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was born on April 10, 1963 in Bryn Mawr, PA to Rodney and Joyce Macon. He served 16 years in the Army National Guard where he reached the rank of Sargeant. Customer At East Ridge Gas Station Shoots And Kills Robber; He Had Been Trying To Take Female Clerk With Him

East Ridge Police said a customer at an East Ridge gas station early Thursday morning shot a robber, who was then found by police lying outside the station and was arrested.  The robber has died.  His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
