Teen Says She Was Accidentally Shot By Friend, But Won't Identify Shooter

Police said an 18-year-old female was shot Tuesday night, but she won't tell who shot her.

At 7:38 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot at 3609 Ridgeside Road. Officers located the victim, Umeka Beasley, suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injuries.

Ms. Beasley reported to detectives that a friend accidentally shot her; however, she refused to give specific details about who the friend is.

The investigation is ongoing.
