2 People From Kentucky Killed In Car Accident In Dalton

Two people were killed early Wednesday morning in a traffic accident in Dalton.

The Dalton Police Department’s traffic enforcement unit is investigating the crash that occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Chattanooga Road in front of the Guest Inn.  

The crash claimed the lives of two from Florence, Ky. Killed in the crash were Charles Beckett, 81, and Donna Beckett, 73. Mr. Beckett was driving a Chevrolet Cruze that pulled out of the Guest Inn parking lot into the path of Dodge Ram truck towing a boat. Ms. Beckett was a passenger in the Chevrolet.  

The Dodge was traveling north on Chattanooga Road and being driven by Joseph Purcell, 68, from Dalton.
