Tommy Lee King, 62, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Hospice of Chattanooga facility, surrounded by his loving family. 

Tommy was born to the now deceased biological parents, Bernie Lee King and Rosetta Fears King,

He earned his GED and received certificates in Data Processing in Nashville. Tommy formerly worked for Royal Construction in sales and The Brass Register as a cook. Tommy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He fought a good fight and won the battle.

He was preceded in death by his legal guardians and parents, Alice and Jamie Brewer; brother, Albert Frederick Brewer; grandparents, Albert “Boss” and Amy King, Mary Lee and John T. Boyd. 

He is survived by a devoted fiancée, Ms. Annie ”Flo” Williams; sons, Monty Powell, Baltimore, MD; Tommy Ryals, Atlanta; a daughter, Tanya  Reese, Brooklyn, NY; granddaughters Laura Powell, Audrey Powell, of Bronx, NY and Cheyenne Powell of Milwaukee, WI; grandsons, Aunique Walker, York, PA; and Keylan Ryals, Atlanta; brothers, Bernard T. (Faye) King, Sr. and Lamar (Avis) King; all of Chattanooga; sisters, Amanda ”Vickie” Mathis and Ola Frances (Glen) Scruggs; aunts, Dollie Graham and Lanetta (Ted) Eaton; of Chattanooga, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends close friend, Eric Wilkson.

Tommy's family is grateful to Dr. Vaishali R. Doshi, MD Oncologist for her care shown throughout his illness and especially to his Fiancée Ms Annie “Flo” Williams who loved and cared for him; to Pastor Kevin L. Adams Sr.; Minister Steve Trimble, Mr. Neoplean Williams, Elder Sandra Barlette, Rev. Harold K. Lester, Bro. Alzo Arnold, and many others for their prayers and support during Tommy’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Benevolence Ministry of Olivet Baptist Church in Memory of Tommy Lee King.

A celebration of Tommy's life will be held at the Olivet Baptist Church, 740 East Martin Luther King  Blvd., 423 266-8709 on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Adams, Sr., officiating.   The burial will take place following the funeral at Highland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 6-8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.
