Joseph "Opie" Carver, 26, of Jasper, TN, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013.

A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel Saturday, January 12, at 2 p.m. CST.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. at the Tate Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.

Strong Winds Wreak Havoc In Chattanooga

A storm with wind gusts up to 70 mph did considerable damage in downtown Chattanooga around 2 p.m. on Saturday. Fencing along Miller Park was twisted onto a nearby lane of traffic on Market Street.
