Cantare, a choral group under the direction of Kevin Ford featuring vocalists from throughout the region, will present selections associated with Orthodox icons composed by Hildegard, Byrd, Tallis and Rachmaninov on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m.
The concert marks the opening of the 2013-14 Season of the Music at Saint Paul’s Artist Series and is presented during the exhibition of Icons in Transformation, an international traveling exhibit exploring the interaction of traditional icons at Vassilevsly Monastery in Russian with paintings and sculptures by Russian abstract expressionist Ludmila Pawlowska. The exhibition will be open for viewing one hour prior to the concert and will be available for viewing during the reception which follows. Concert tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
