Secretary Hargett, Hamilton County Legislative Delegation Members To Screen Capitol Documentary In Chattanooga On Friday

Secretary of State Tre Hargett, Senate Speaker Pro Tempore Bo Watson, House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick, Senator Todd Gardenhire, Representative Richard Floyd, Representative Mike Carter, and other state and local officials will get a preview of a documentary on the history of the Tennessee State Capitol. Also at the event, legislators will receive DVD copies of the documentary for distribution to every public school in Hamilton County.

The screening will take place at the Chattanooga Convention Center, Meeting Room 12, 1150 Carter Street, at 1 p.m. on Friday.

The State Capitol is one of the most historic buildings in Tennessee. Officials said it is important for Tennesseans, particularly young Tennesseans, to gain an understanding about the building’s history.

Boyd Says $4.1 Million In County Budget Cuts Would Yield $43.1 Million For School Projects; Proposes That CSLA Move To Dalewood

County Commission Finance Chairman Tim Boyd on Wednesday recommended $4.1 million in county budget cuts, which he said would provide bond funds for $43,150,000 in county school projects.
