Tennis Mocs Finish Play at USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional

The Mocs wrapped up play at the 2013 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Sunday.  UTC dropped two singles matches in consolation action to close out its participation in the tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. 

Sophomore John Peacey (Emerald, Australia) dropped his consolation match to Lipscomb’s David Salazar (6-2, 6-3).  Junior Pavels Grigorjevs (Riga, Latvia) advance in the bracket by default before losing to Butler’s Pulok Bhattacharya (6-3, 6-2).

 

The Mocs have one more tournament on the fall schedule.  They travel to the Grizzly Open at Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Ga., on Oct. 18-20.

CCS, Signal Mountain Split In District 7-AA Matchup

The Chattanooga Christian School basketball teams split with Signal Mountain in a district 7-AA matchup at CCS.  The Lady Eagles of Signal Mountain held CCS to just 19 points, winning 32-19.  The Charger boys improved their district record to 2-0 with a 54-45 win.  In the low scoring girls game, Signal Mountain led 10-6 at the half.  Signal would score 14 ...
