Tennis Mocs Finish Play at USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional

The Mocs wrapped up play at the 2013 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Sunday.  UTC dropped two singles matches in consolation action to close out its participation in the tournament in Knoxville, Tenn. 

Sophomore John Peacey (Emerald, Australia) dropped his consolation match to Lipscomb’s David Salazar (6-2, 6-3).  Junior Pavels Grigorjevs (Riga, Latvia) advance in the bracket by default before losing to Butler’s Pulok Bhattacharya (6-3, 6-2).

 

The Mocs have one more tournament on the fall schedule.  They travel to the Grizzly Open at Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Ga., on Oct. 18-20.

Randy Smith: An Embarrassing Softball Fight

While watching the evening news on television last night I witnessed an embarrassing fight between parents at a 12-year old softball game. The game and the fight took place in Kingsport, Tennessee, which to me makes it doubly embarrassing. Red Bank Finalizes 20-Cent Property Tax Increase

The Red Bank commissioners voted Tuesday night to adopt the fiscal year 2018-2019 budget that includes a property tax increase. Mayor John Roberts said that along with the increase in both commercial and residential development, comes increased traffic.
