#1 Everybody Needs One Pep Talk Radio Show Tonight
Every Monday 7-8 p.m. on Groove Radio FM 93.5. Lurone "Coach" Jennings and Brian Smith are host Pep Talk and discuss the city of Chattanooga, and positive solutions for communities, youth and families. Tonight's topic is free literacy help with United Way, and more on CAP's impact on teens in the community. Also listen live at groove93.com.
#2 Fall Break Information at Our Youth & Family Development Centers
Next week is Fall Break for Hamilton County Schools. Many centers will offer activities for children, parents and adults. This may cause a few schedule changes for the week. #3 Water Safety Week Oct. 21-25
Activities, lessons, boating safety and water hazards. Free and open to all youth in grades K-5th grade at Brainerd Complex Indoor Pool. This is a hands on training that will have your child more confident and safe around water in the Tennessee Valley. Classes will happen daily from 1-1:45 p.m. (K-2) and 2-2:45 p.m.(Grades 3-5th). #4 GED/ESL Classes Offered at East Lake YFD Center
Classes offered by Chatt State. Chattanooga State will begin GED and/or ESL classes today but you can still register this week. The GED classes will be on Monday and Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. and ESL classes will be Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. The classes start today, however after enrollment week of Oct. 7-10. To register, call Chatt State at 697-2529 and say you are registering for the East Lake site (which will be at 28th St & 4th Ave) and will be instructed to arrive around 8:30-8:45 for enrollment, testing, and classes.

#8 Boo at the Zoo's Dreamnight
Thursday, Oct. 24, 5:30-8 p.m. The Chattanooga Zoo's annual Boo in the Zoo celebration includes a dance/DJ in the Education Building, some of your most lovable cartoon characters, trick-or-treat stations, costume contests, pizza, games, and much more! Dreamnight is a free, open house event for individuals with special needs and/or terminal illnesses and their families or caretakers. Dreamnight offers a VIP Zoo visit that acknowledges and accommodates the unique circumstances that generally limit relaxing outings for these families during normal operating hours. #9 Free Center Fall Festivals
Tyner YFD Center (Next to Tyner High), Oct. 30, 5-8 p.m. Community program sponsored by Silverdale Baptist Church. This program will include rides, music, games, food, and gifts all free to Tyner Community and surrounding areas. 855-2664.
