Chattanooga poet and musician Christian J. Collier will be celebrating the release of Between Beauty and Bedlam, his debut EP, at Barking Legs Theater on Sunday, Nov. 10. Tickets for the all-ages event are $10, and doors will open at 6.
Review for Christian Collier:
Collier is an accomplished artist and the founder of The Speakeasy open-mic and MANIFEST series. His chapbook Ghosts and Echoes was released in 2009 and has sold over 500 copies independently solely off the strength of readings and live performances. He has been called “an artist to watch” and was featured on the IndieFeed Performance Poetry Channel, which prides itself on featuring the best spoken word artists working today.
Between Beauty and Bedlam is his debut release, and Mr. Collier wrote and produced the entire record himself. The record fuses spoken word poetry and an eclectic mix of musical genres including Hip-Hop and ambient. It is available now at CD Baby, Bandcamp, and at live performances.
Barking Legs Theater is at 1307 Dodds Ave. Poet Marcus Ellsworth, who is the host of the Wide Open Floor series and is the author of Confessions of Ascension: Gabrielle, Harlequin Fires, and When the World Was Round, will open the evening at 7 p.m.
