A 19-year-old Chattanooga youth has been charged with breaking into a home and robbing two men at gunpoint.

Marvin Vinson Lee, who lives on Polk Drive, was charged with aggravated robbery.

Police said at around 12:06 p.m. last Thursday, Lee broke into the Westmoreland family’s residence on Agnes Avenue and pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at Jimmy and William Westmoreland, demanding money. Lee took Jimmy Westmoreland’s wallet and William Westmoreland’s cellphone before he fled from their home.

Chattanooga police found and arrested Lee on Amnicola Highway the following day at around 12:30 p.m. After his arrest, he was taken to the police station for questioning. The officers read Lee his rights, and afterward he confessed on tape to home invasion and robbery.

Bail was set at $25,000.

Agnes Avenue is near Wilcox Boulevard.

Roy Exum: Al Sharpton’s Wise Remarks

I’ll admit I paid little more than scant attention to the Monday funeral of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old who was shot and killed by police bullets in Ferguson, Mo., after he allegedly was involved in strong-armed robbery. There are too many tawdry details and, in my way of thinking, there is nothing under God’s sun, absolutely nothing, that gives others the right to riot, burn ... (click for more)
