Region Soccer Semfinals Set For Tuesday

Several area prep girls soccer teams will be in action on Tuesday in the region semfinals hosted by each district champion.

In Class A/AA, Notre Dame and East Ridge will host games.

In Class AAA, McMinn County will host. 

Winners of the region semifinals will advance to the finals on Thursday.  Both region winners and runner up will advanced to sectional play next Saturday.  Only sectional winners will advance to the state tournament which will be played in Mufreesboro.

Lee University’s Josiah Brooks and Christian Noble earned top-seven finishes in their events on the second day of the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships at IMG Academy Track & Field Stadium.   Brooks began the day with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump final. Richard Anderson, 29, Struck And Killed While Trying To Cross Highway 153

Richard Anderson II, 29, was killed Friday night, while trying to cross Highway 153.   Chattanooga Police responded at 11:36 p.m. to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian struck.   A Honda Civic driven by Kelsey Hamilton, 20, was traveling southbound on Highway 153 in the middle lane with other traffic in adjacent lanes.   Mr. Anderson, wearing ... Eppard, 32, Charged With Aggravated Statutory Rape After 17-Year-Old He Was Living With Has Baby

Police have charged 32-year-old Anthony John Eppard with aggravated statutory rape after the 17-year-old girl he was living with had a baby. Officers were called to a civil dispute on Hillsview Drive on March 8. It was then found that the girl was living at the residence. She could not supply the name of next of kin or a legal guardian.
