Bruce “Sonny” Hooper, Jr., 73, of Cleveland, TN, passed away at a local health care facility onTuesday October 22, 2013 surrounded by friends and family.
He was born on April 30, 1940 in Hamilton County to the late Bruce William Hooper, Sr. and Mabel Morgan Hooper. He was of the Baptist faith. Bruce loved to fish, making a big garden, the Braves, VOLS football, watching his grandsons play ball and will forever be remembered as a very loving man, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Hooper.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, JoAnn Hooper; one son, Jim Hughes; one daughter, Debbie Hughes Carlton (Tom); one sister, Lillian Hall (Lynn); one grandson, Jeremy Mason Chastain (Missy); one granddaughter, Heather Mason Frye; two great-grandsons, Hunter Chastain and Bailey Frye; and several extended family members and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
