"What Are You Afraid Of" Is Topic On Wednesday At Burks United Methodist

The fall festival at Burks United Methodist Church, 6433 Hixson Pike, will be on Sunday, from 3-6 p.m. with free food, live music, vendor and craft booths, a chili cook-off and Blue Ribbon Dessert contest, a scarecrow design contest, inflatable games for children and youth, a costume parade and children’s games.
 
At the Fall Gathering on Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m., the topic will be "Fear - What Are You Afraid Of?" Come early for coffee and snacks at 6 p.m.

Robber Is Shot By Victim In Attempted Robbery On East 43rd Street

One person was shot during a robbery attempt at 4314 Rossville Blvd. around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday.  The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating the robbery that ended in a shooting near East 43rd St. at Miller Auto Sales.  The robbery victim shot the suspect.  The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Fire On Crutchfield Street Ruled Arson

Chattanooga fire investigators have determined that last Thursday’s fire at 1207 Crutchfield St.  that nearly killed four people was deliberately set. Lt. Henry McElvain with the Fire Investigation Division said he cannot divulge the reason why he thinks it’s arson, but he is asking for help from the public.
