Bibles For Third Graders Sunday At Christ United Methodist

Bibles will be presented to third graders Sunday during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Road. 

A Who Are We Class for new or prospective members will be Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. with the remaining two class sessions Nov. 13 and 20. Meet in the sanctuary with the Rev. A Downtown Business Men's Luncheon will be Wednesday at noon in the First Tennessee Bank Building, 701 Market St.
Pay $10 at the door. The program, led by Mark Flynn, will be on increasing our access to  distraction as well as information.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner

The Union Gospel Mission and Mustard Tree Ministries will be providing a Free Thanksgiving Dinner at Miller Plaza on Wednesday. Dinner will be served around 1 p.m.  The traditional Thanksgiving dinner will include turkey, dressing, gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls, and pumpkin pie. Good Shepherd Luthern Church Has Advent Services Concerts

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host two concerts at their Wednesday Advent Services. The Chattanooga Girls Choir will be performing on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m. Jericho Brass will give their annual concert at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m.   The church is at 822 Belvoir Ave. in East Ridge.  For more information call the church at 629-4661. Kiser Takes Witness Stand For First Time; Says He Did Not Kill Deputy Donald Bond

Marlon Duane Kiser took the witness stand at his post-conviction hearing on Tuesday to declare that he did not kill Deputy Donald Bond, who was gunned down at a produce stand in East Brainerd 13 years ago. Courtney Godwin, 25, Was Victim In Monday Night Fire In Hixson

Chattanooga firefighters battled a fully-involved structure fire in Hixson Monday night, and the incident involved at least one fatality.  Dr. Steve Cogswell with the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Courtney D.
