The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera presents its annual holiday concert, Home for the Holidays, on Dec. 21 and 22 at the Tivoli Theatre. The theme “Through a Child’s Eyes” focuses on holiday memories from each generation’s childhood – from “Go Tell it on the Mountain” to “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” to the more modern Polar Express.
“The music on this year’s Home for the Holidays program should invoke special memories for each member of the family, from grandparents to young children,” stated CSO Marketing Director, Samantha Teter.
Conducted by Music Director Kayoko Dan and produced/directed by Joel D. Scribner, CSO musicians will be joined by the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus, directed by Darrin Hassevoort, the Metropolitan Bells, the Chattanooga Boys Choir, host Greg Glover, plus a cast of costumed mascots, skaters, local schoolchildren and Santa.
“This is truly a community event, bringing together several arts organizations plus a cast of children from schools such as Falling Water, Nolan, and Chickamauga Elementary Schools, Soddy Daisy Middle School, Belvoir Christian Academy, St. Nicholas School, GPS, Baylor and homeschool,” stated Ms. Teter.
Tickets for both performances are on sale now and start at $19, while supplies last. Tickets for children under the age of 18 and college students with a valid student I.D. are $15. Tickets can be purchased online at www.chattanoogasymphony.org or by calling 267-8583.
