Richard K. Bennett announced Tuesday he plans to run for the Hamilton County School Board District 5 seat.

"My running for District Five School Board seat will allow me to be a greater advocate for the children in Hamilton County Schools," he said.

Mr. Bennett has already filed with the election office to name a campaign treasurer.

He is a pastor and is the founder and CEO of A Better Tomorrow Inc. He recently made a presentation about his program to the County Commission.

Jeffrey Wilson is not seeking re-election to the District 5 seat.

A man was rushed to surgery after being shot on Willow Street on Thursday afternoon. At approximately 4:23 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 300 N.
