Congress, Stand Your Ground - And Response

Thursday, October 3, 2013

Mr. Fleishman, Dejarlais and Graves,

Your strong stand against the President and Democrats is exactly what a vast majority of locals wish for you to do.  Obama and Democrats for the last 24-hours have publicly stated that it's "all or nothing," give them everything they want, including this miserable "Affordable Heathcare" that most Americans and even the executive branches don't want.  No negotiation they say.  And somebody has the gall to blame the Republicans?

I hate that national parks are closed but that's about the only closed thing that brings sadness.  Hey, the Army-Navy game is still planned later this week.

A news program interviewed several people on Tuesday and the general feeling about government shutdown  was, "OMG, I may have to get a job and work."  I am sure these were supporters of the big "O".

Somebody has got to stand up to ridiculous spending.

Has anyone been able to login to the wonderful "Affordable Healthcare" system?  They had three-years to get this thing planned and I have tried to access it a dozen times or more since Tuesday without success.

Democrats and "O" admit that nobody voting on Obamacare has read the thing.  If it is run like the government runs everything else, it will be a disaster.  When was the last time the USPO operated without a huge drain on the taxpayers?

* * *

A group of politicians gleefully exited their meeting following a vote to shut down the government.  Perhaps it was the alcohol they consumed before or during the meeting or perhaps it was just a complete breakdown of character and intelligence that caused the Republican members of Congress to exit the meeting grinning from ear to ear, displaying a thumbs up. Michelle Bachmann saying this was the happiest we have been in a long time or John Culberson stating, “Just like 911, Let’s roll.”

Not my words, but certainly worth repeating, “Culberson’s flaw is in thinking that he’s with the good guys in the back of the plane, when it’s actually his crew that’s on a suicide mission to destroy the White House, the President and affordable health care for millions of us.”

Mr. Frank Greene wrote a moving letter to The Chattanoogan trying to explain how important affordable health care is. He lost his brother in part because of lack of health insurance and is enduring the agony of having a daughter with breast cancer who has to have a fund raiser to pay for treatment.  What would Republicans say to this man when he asks, “what have you got against my family?”

Mr. Holcomb, your letter was chilling mostly because of your complete lack of compassion and understanding. I can only imagine how Mr. Frank Greene feels when he reads your synopsis of the shutdown and your suggestion that he just needs to get a job. Or, that the closing of the national parks is the only thing that brings you sadness with complete disregard to those going without pay.

I can assure you I have successfully logged on to the website for ACA and I’ll bet Mr. Greene has done the same. Before you make a comment about who has read the ACA you might want to read up on why the USPO is having financial problems or what financial experts say about defaulting on our debt. You might even want to read Green Eggs and Ham.

Enjoy the football game, Mr. Holcomb
