Motorists Can Replace Lost Titles In County Clerk's Office "While They Wait"

Thursday, October 31, 2013

County Clerk Bill Knowles announced that motorists needing to replace a lost motor vehicle title can do so in his office “while they wait”.

Mr. Knowles said, “Several years ago Clerk offices were permitted to instant print duplicate vehicle titles. The State changed the policy prohibiting immediate release of replacements.  Many times this worked a hardship on motorists needing to quickly replace a lost title in order to trade or sell their vehicle.

“I am pleased that our office has helped influence the State Title and Registration Division to re-instate our ability to immediately print and release a replacement vehicle title.

When proof of ownership and identification is presented motorists can receive the duplicate within minutes. I trust this expanded service will be helpful to the motoring public.”
