Over 100 teams in Tennessee have registered for this year's FIRST Lego League Challenge. This year's challenge is Nature's Fury - https://www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge/2013naturesfury
Teams will explore how storms, quakes and waves can affect the world. Teams will research and learn what can be done when intense natural events meet the places people live, work, and play.
The state tournament is scheduled for the first Saturday in December at Tenn Tech. The state event in Cookeville event can only take in 60 teams. The local Lego Robotics event is a qualifier.
Teams in Tennessee have to attend a qualifier event to be eligible/selected to attend the state tournament.
Chattanooga Robotics in collaboration with TVA and Signal Mountain High School will be hosting the first qualifier on Nov. 23 at the high school. FIRST guidelines and rules will be followed.
Thirty-two judges, eight each for project, design, core value, and the game competition, are needed for the event. There will be a training session on Thursday, Nov 7, in the late afternoon at Battle, and Saturday morning, Nov. 9 at Signal Mountain High School.
