The Planning Commission next Monday will hear a request for rezoning for a major residential development along the Tennessee River on the west side of Cameron Hill.
Aaron White/Vulcan Lands Inc. (Evergreen Real Estate) is requesting to rezone 11.1 acres at 556 Molly Lane from M-1 manufacturing to C-3 central business zone for The Landings.
The applicant is proposing 71 single-family detached cottage units, and two four-story multi-family structures containing 208 multi-family units.
The site is by the Cameron Harbor development that thus far includes a SpringHill Suites hotel.
The vacant property is the site of the former Vulcan manufacturing facility.
A site plan shows two rows of cottages close to the river near a new section of the Tennessee Riverwalk. The two buildings are further back from the river with a parking lot between them.
Craig Kronenberg is the architect on the project.
The staff of the Regional Planning Agency is recommending approval.
