4 Hamilton County Sheriff's Officers Promoted

Four members of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office were recognized for their recent promotion in rank. Sheriff Jim Hammond presented Sergeants Mark King and Ricky Jones with their lieutenant bars, and Detective David Sowders and Corporal Paul Maupin their sergeant chevrons.

Lieutenant King will be in charge of the Sheriff’s Patrol Delta team, Lieutenant Jones will be in charge of the Sheriff’s Patrol Bravo team, Sergeant Paul Maupin will be assigned to the School Resource Division of the Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Sowders, upon his replacement, will be assigned to Bravo team east.

Chattanooga Parking Authority Meters To Be Unenforced On Memorial Day

The Chattanooga Parking Authority has announced downtown parking meters will not be enforced (and need not be paid) on Monday, in honor of Memorial Day. Parking in an unlawful area or manner (bus or loading zones, yellow curb, no parking, handicap space, Fort Wood Residential District, etc.) is enforceable 24 hours/7 days a week. (click for more)

Woman Found In Trunk Of Wrecked Car In Hixson Had Been Shot Multiple Times

A woman whose body was found in the trunk of a car after a wreck on Norcross Road in Hixson on April 7 had been shot multiple times, it was testified on Tuesday. Defense Attorney Wants To Take Jury To Scene Of 2015 Deadly I-75 Crash
