An 18-year-old Chattanooga youth was arrested last Wednesday after police said he broke into and robbed the home of Tiara Taylor on Colemere Drive. Eric Payne was also taken in for questioning.
Fredrick Jordan Clark was charged with aggravated burglary, vandalism, and theft over $500. Police were alerted to the situation at 9:48 a.m. when neighbor James Farrow saw the break-in taking place from his own home and called 911.
The neighbor described seeing Clark and Payne looking into windows on the back of Ms. Taylor's home. He then saw them break a window and eventually come out with a large flat screen TV before they ran away.
Police searched the home and found pry marks where the men had tried to open the window with a pry bar before deciding to break it. Ms. Taylor said that the only thing that was taken was the 42-inch flat screen TV. A glove was also discovered at the crime scene.
The two youths were found approximately four hours later not far down the road from the location of the robbery, and police said a glove was found in Eric Payne's pocket that matched the glove found at Ms. Taylor's home.
For Clark, bail was set at $20,000.
Colemere Drive is near Bonny Oaks Dr./Highway 317.
