Richard “Larry” Thompson, 70, of Dalton, GA, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Thompson; mother, Edna Jenkins; brother, Wayne Jenkins; and infant granddaughter, Shana Sanford.

He was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Weeks Thompson of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Traci and David Sims, April and Mark Thomas, all of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Amanda Weeks of Rocky Face; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Dennis Partin of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Carol Jenkins of Dalton; grandchildren, Gage, Zane, Chase, Kaylor, Cole, Ty, Abby, David and Harper; nieces and nephews.

The funeral service to honor the life of Larry Thompson will be held Thursday, October 10, at 2 p.m. at the Grove Level Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Charlie Bridges and Rev. Dan Rice officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 9 from 5-8 p.m. 

The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
