Joyce Richardson Mathis, 79, of the Pleasant Grove Community in Dalton, GA, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Harvey Richardson; second husband, D. V. Mathis; son, Al Richardson; daughter, Marsha Hocking; sister, June McKeen; and brother, Lewis Hurd.

She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Mark & Stephanie Richardson of Dalton; sister, Ruby Kittle of Dalton; step-son & wife, Danny & Cheryl Mathis; step-daughter & husband, Brenda & Charles Bramlett; daughter-in-law, Glenda Richardson Fisher; son-in-law, Tim Hocking; seven grandchildren;t eigh great-grandchildren; special niece, Amy Davis; and other nieces and nephews.

The funeral service to honor the life of Joyce Richardson Mathis will be held Wednesday, November 13, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. Burial will be in Grove Level Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, November 13 from 12-2 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Baptist Church, Parking lot fund, 1448 Pleasant Grove Dr. Dalton, GA 30721.

Funeral arrangements are by Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton.
