Sue Bartlett Wins National Team Tennis Title

Women's Southern 55s are Champs

It was a very good weekend for GPS tennis coach Sue Bartlett as she helped the Women's Southern 55s team capture the USTA National Women's Intersectional Team championship and she was also notified that she will be a member of the Great Britain Women's 55s World Team next spring.

In the intersectional matches played in Boca Raton, Fla., Bartlett won a doubles match and two singles matches, one of which was against Caroline Nichols who is ranked No.3 in the nation in Women's 55s.

The Bartlett-Nichols  match went four hours before the former UTC All-American rallied to win in three sets.4-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Softball Classic Set For Tuesday

Attorney Davis Says Other Driver In Styles Case Pulled Gun While Driving Wildly; Denies Radio Host "Blacked Out"

Attorney Lee Davis said the other driver in a Friday road rage incident in Hixson pulled a gun on radio personality Jeff Styles while driving wildly.  He denied that the talk show host blacked out.  Jeff Styles, who was shot in the forearm, was charged with aggravated assault and vandalism. Floyd Charged With Fighting Police Officer On Station Street In Incident Caught On Video

Police have charged 21-year-old William Alexander Floyd after a fight with an officer on Station Street that was caught on video and quickly shared on social media. Floyd, of Ringgold, Ga., was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, vandalism, public intoxication and resisting arrest.
