Sue Bartlett Wins National Team Tennis Title

Women's Southern 55s are Champs

It was a very good weekend for GPS tennis coach Sue Bartlett as she helped the Women's Southern 55s team capture the USTA National Women's Intersectional Team championship and she was also notified that she will be a member of the Great Britain Women's 55s World Team next spring.

In the intersectional matches played in Boca Raton, Fla., Bartlett won a doubles match and two singles matches, one of which was against Caroline Nichols who is ranked No.3 in the nation in Women's 55s.

The Bartlett-Nichols  match went four hours before the former UTC All-American rallied to win in three sets.4-6, 7-5, 6-4.

UTC'S Stuart, Melchionna Named All District Track

 University of Tennessee at Chattanooga runners Paul Stuart (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Maddison Melchionna (Afton, Tenn.) were named to the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-District today for cross country and track and field.   Stuart just completed his junior season on the men’s cross country team and led the Mocs on the course. ... UTC Women's Basketball Adds Winthrop Transfer

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head coach Jim Foster announced the addition of transfer Arianne Whitaker to the women’s basketball roster next season.   Whitaker, a Cincinnati, Ohio native, is leaving Winthrop University and will have to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.
