Freda Lowe

Freda Mae Bost Lowe, 65, was born on January 10, 1948 in Salisbury, N.C., and raised in Woodleaf, N.C..

She graduated from West Rowan High School and received her Bachelor of Arts from King College in Bristol, Tn. On May 31, 1970 she married Thomas Lowe at Unity Presbyterian Church in Woodleaf, N.C. They were residents of Bristol, for 13 years and moved to Chattanooga in 1983. She was a member of the family of Covenant Presbyterian Church since its beginning.

Freda was a servant of her Lord and a blessing to all she met. For many years she served as the president of the Women in the Church, always stepping in where there was a need. She loved stopping on the road to pick wildflowers, working in her yard, caring for her family and visiting with friends. She was a devoted, loving, and gracious daughter, sister, wife, mother and Nana.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2013, Freda passed through the gates of heaven and met her Lord. She was welcomed by her daddy, Fredrick Lee Bost.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 43 years, Thomas Lowe; her mother, Almeda Bost; her sister, Julia Meeks, her brother-in-law, Michael R. Meeks; her daughters, Rebecca Dyer, Sarah Caines and Mary Shaw; her sons-in-law, Philip Caines and Bryan Shaw; her grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Dyer, Abigail, Thomas, Jacob and Hannah Caines, Kalie, Samuel and Simon Shaw; great-granddaughter, Chloe Rose Dyer; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and all those who knew and loved her.

Join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 8451 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, followed by a reception at the church.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made to the building fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church or The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition at 2501 Oak Lawn Ave., Suite 435, Dallas, Tx. 75219, to continue the fight for a cure.
