Edwin Lee Harris, 81, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Nov.15, 2013. 

He was the son of the late James Walter Harris, Jr., and Ollie Torbett Harris.

Ed was an army veteran and a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. Following his retirement from Dupont in 1985 he was employed by ABB and Alstom Power. Ed was a wonderful husband, father, and friend who can never be replaced and will be remembered lovingly.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Pierce Harris; daughters Kimberly Annette Hawkins and Emily Keen (Lavon) Pickle; grandsons, Spencer Hawkins and Alex Drouillard; siblings Eugene (Gene) Harris, Emily Walston, Elsie Kinley, Marjory Cronon, and Elizabeth Hinton; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Storm Costs EPB $2.5 Million; Smart Grid Helped Ease The Pain

Tuesday night's fierce storm cost EPB an estimated $2.5 million, President David Wade said Friday. 1 Killed, 1 Injured In Brainerd Shooting

One person was killed and a second person injured in a shooting in Brainerd on Thursday night. The call was to 3301 Pinewood Ave. at 7:05 p.m. It was reported that a silver vehicle was seen leaving the scene. One of the persons shot, 23-year-old Antonio Baldwin, died during surgery.
