Triple Whipple Is December River Gallery Exhibit

Triple Whipple is the December exhibit at River Gallery.  There will be an artist reception on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6:30-8 p.m. 

The artists in the exhibit include John Whipple, Lynn Whipple and Marty Whipple, all from Florida.  

The December show features the third installment of an artistic family all fascinated by assemblage, found objects, and the juxtaposition of unexpected images.   

Lynn Whipple collects objects like old photographs, wooden boxes, and lost letters to create her often whimsical mixed media assemblages.  

Finding inspiration in the combinations of things he enjoys, John Whipple juxtaposes different images for a dramatic and sometimes playful final product.

Jewelry artist Marty Whipple gives new life to discarded objects like watch parts, buttons, and pillboxes by combining them with other materials like silver and brass. 

All events are free and open to the public.

Girl, 20, Killed While Trying To Cross Highway 153 Early Sunday Morning

A girl, 20, was killed early Sunday morning while trying to cross Highway 153. The victim was identified as Ansleigh Kaylyn Harrison. At approximately 1:28 a.m. , Chattanooga Police officers responded to a pedestrian struck at 5256 Highway 153 . 2 Shot In Separate Incidents Early Saturday Morning; 1 Victim Is A Juvenile Girl
