The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority announced its Thanksgiving Day Holiday Operating Schedules for Landfill and Convenience Centers. Locations include the Old Dixie Landfill and Convenience Center, McGaughey Chapel Convenience Center, Westside Convenience Center, and the M.L. King Convenience Center. Thanksgiving Day Holiday Operating Schedules for Landfill and Convenience Centers 

Wednesday, Nov. 27 – All locations open, closing early.  7 a.m.-3 p.m., McGaughey Chapel normally closed

Thursday, Nov. 28 – All locations closed – Thanksgiving Day

Friday, Nov. 29 – All locations open – 7 a.m.-6 p.m. , resume normal schedule

Saturday, Nov. 30 – All locations open - 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

City Council Approves $2.19 Million Purchase Of Body Cameras For Police Officers

The City Council on Tuesday night voted unanimously to approve the $2,191,544 purchase of body cameras for city police officers. Councilman Chip Henderson, who heads the council's public safety committee, said the purchase was already included in the budget.
