Re:  New Proposals For Post-Fire Logging Fail To Protect Northern Spotted Owls

I would be happy to see a way to post rebuttal comments after that article.  It is already proven out that all of the restrictions to logging have not added the Owl.

At the same time this article is devoid of any facts about the destruction of our forests when left to nature.  It also does not mention the wanton and continuing devastation of the timber counties economies in Oregon even after it is known that the Northern Spotted Owl is a declining species unaffected by timber harvesting.

This sounds more like a propaganda piece intended to continue hoodwinking those unaware of the reality of the “Spotted Owl Hoax.”

Great note to the Chattanoogan on the Spotted Owl, David. Try reading my book Timber about the timber crisis in the PNW.

The owl was only a means to an end with the environmentalists and Al Gore let the courts and Judge Dwyer close down the most productive region for timber in the country. Remember Clinton's and Gore's campaign "promise" of protecting the jobs and the environment in the PNW.Way too many lost their jobs and children lost their parents.

Thanks again for your note.

Despite SROs, Walled Compounds Bring Violent Intruders On Themselves

People in live in terror of a school massacre, near enough to plan for yet far enough away that no one need act in panic or haste. Barely do paramilitary drills such as that  Monday  in Monteagle ease their fears.  An “active shooter drill,” as David Carroll reports it, quietly rolled along among three police agencies at Monteagle Elementary School, with ... Roy Exum: The Sleepless In Seattle

I am hardly a technophile, but somewhere down the line I became fascinated with a crowd-funding website called Indiegogo. Every once in a while I’ll pop in to marvel at the cleverness of the people who live among us and yesterday, almost by accident, I crossed paths via the website with a beautiful guy named Eddie Wang. Eddie just graduated from the University of Washington and ... (click for more)

The Hamilton County Schools have a plan to put security cameras in every school, Supt. Rick Smith told the County School Board Thursday night. Baylor Must Contend With MBA's Chandler In DII-AA Semis

If there is one thing different about Friday’s TSSAA Division II-AA semifinal playoff game between Baylor and Montgomery Bell Academy at Tommy Owen Stadium in Nashville from the teams’ regular-season matchup, Red Raiders coach Phil Massey knows exactly what it is. Or, well, who it is. It’s Ty Chandler. Chandler, a 6-foot, 180-pound sophomore running back, has added ... (click for more)

McCallie's Gordon Connell - a New Wrestling Venture

Saturday morning in Cleveland when five rookie wrestling officials from the Chattanooga area take to the mats to call matches for the season opening middle school tournament at Ocoee Middle School, it will be easy to pick out the one who, at first observation, doesn't belong. Or does he? With lots of gray hair and years of coaching experience, former ... (click for more)
