Man Run Over And Killed On Highway 153; Driver Leaves Scene

A man was run over and killed on Highway 153 early Saturday morning, and the driver of the vehicle that struck him left the scene.

At 4:04 a.m., Chattanooga Police officers were dispatched to 5111 Highway 153  on a person lying in the roadway. Upon arrival Officers found Tyrone Lee O’Bryant lying in the southbound lane of Highway 153. 

The 44-year-old victim was deceased when officers arrived on the scene. Officers were able to determine that he was walking across the busy highway when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. 

Police said, "The unknown vehicle left the scene before police officers arrived."
