Hamilton County Council Of PTAs Hosts Information Session Dec. 4

The Hamilton County Council of PTAs (HCC of PTAs) and the Tennessee PTA’s Southeast Region will host an information session on “What is a Welcoming School?” on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at the HCDE Central Office in the School Board Room which is located at 3074 Hickory Valley Road.


Parents, teachers, school administrators, and family partner specialists are invited to attend this session to discuss various methods to determine what a welcoming school is. The Council has invited Tennessee PTA president, Charla Sparks of Memphis, to attend this session.



Red Bank High School JROTC Raider Are Tennessee State Champions

The Red Bank High School JROTC Raider are the Tennessee State Champions and also the Hamilton County Department of Education JROTC Raider Conference. The State Championship contest was held at Soddy Daisy on Sept. 23, and the Conference Championships finished on Sept. 26. (click for more)

Sharp Davis And Medlin Crowned Dorm Wars 2017 Champion

Over 1,500 Lee University students, staff, and faculty, along with community guests, filled Walker Arena and watched as Sharp Davis Hall and Medlin Hall claimed the title of victors of Dorm Wars 2017.  The female residence hall Sharp Davis emerged victorious and claimed the trophy for a second year in a row. $125 Million County School Building Plan Includes Shifting CSLA To Tyner Middle; Combining Tyner High/Middle; New Harrison Elementary, New East Hamilton Middle

Hamilton County School officials on Thursday unveiled a $125 million building plan that includes moving the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts to the current Tyner Middle School, which will undergo a major renovation. Signal Mountain Committee Says Pulling Away From County Schools Is "Feasible"

After eight months of investigating the viability of Signal Mountain establishing a separate school district, a committee of six has determined that it is feasible and would meet the goal of improving the education provided to students. The Deer Decline At Enterprise South Nature Park

There are now 11 fewer deer to see at Enterprise Nature Park. The hunters snuck another one in secretly so as not to cause controversy.   I go to that park three or four times a week, and haven't seen any deer for months, and I used to see them all the time.
